The 2013 Montreal municipal elections were held on November 3, 2013, as part of the Quebec municipal elections. Voters elected 65 positions on the Montreal City Council, including the mayor, borough mayors, and city councillors, as well as 38 borough councillors. Denis Coderre, representing Équipe Coderre pour Montréal, defeated his closest rival, Édith Boisson, with 32.15% of the vote and a majority of 26,405 votes. His party secured 27 of the 65 council seats, while Projet Montréal, led by Richard Bergeron, became the official opposition with 20 seats. Marcel Côté's Coalition Montréal won 6 seats, and Édith Boisson's Vrai changement pour Montréal won 4. The election followed the resignation of interim mayor Laurent Blanchard, who succeeded Michael Applebaum after his resignation due to corruption charges. Previous mayor Gérald Tremblay left office in 2012 amid corruption allegations against Union Montréal.
