The Wimberley air crash occurred on 30 April 2026 at approximately 11:25 p.m. CDT (UTC-5) in Wimberley, Texas at the edge of a neighborhood near Round Rock Road when a Cessna 421C went down at a high rate of speed. The five on board, members of the Amarillo Pickleball Club who were headed for a tournament, were all killed. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board shall lead the investigation. The Cessna had taken off from Amarillo some two hours before with a companion Cessna, both headed for New Braunfels National Airport in New Braunfels, Texas when it began behaving erratically and fell off the scope; another, separate aircraft reported that its locator emergency device had emitted a distress signal, whereupon the air traffic controller dialed 911.
